Rider Insurance

The Club is insured through British Cycling for its official Club rides and cover is also provided for the Ride Leader(s) as designated club officials. Please remember that individual members on a Club ride are not covered by the Club insurance and all members are strongly advised to ensure they have individual third party liability insurance cover in place, an example being the cover provided via BC membership.

Sunday

Every Sunday we run 4 – 8 ride groups from the The Oakwood Pub in Alderley Edge . These vary in terms of distance, pace and amount of climbing. The groups range from a steady, shorter, social paced ride through to an intermediate pace, distance and elevation to faster groups. All group rides begin with a briefing from the designated ride leader. The shorter routes are usually around 25-30 miles and the longer ones 40-60 miles. Each group’s pace is always set by the slowest rider and nobody will ever be dropped or left behind. Generally, we don’t stop in the middle of a ride other than a brief break on the side of the road but there’s a rewarding drink and food stop waiting for you at the end of each ride at our base, The Oakwood. If you would like to join us for a ride, non-members are welcome on a Sunday by prior arrangement. As space is limited on these rides and we want to ensure you ride with a suitable group, please don’t just turn up.

Thursday

Friday

There is also a Friday morning ride which has been nicknamed the “Slackers” ride for those not in work. We meet at The Oakwood and there are usually two to three different paced groups. The route varies week to week flat or hilly but it is usually no longer than 50 miles in length. More details are provided on the Club Members Facebook group.
